Guided tours

PLEASE NOTE! Registration will open on 7 September for guided tours from 18 September to 31 December 2018.

 

For individuals

 

1. Tour of the Museum and several rooms of the BNE (exterior staircase, hallway, main staircase, Italian Room, entrance hall and General Reading Room). Approximate duration of 90 minutes.

* Tuesdays and Fridays at 5pm. Registration

* Wednesdays and Thursdays at 5pm and Saturdays at 12pm. Registration

 

2. Discover the BNE: this tour includes the exterior staircase, the hallway, the main staircase, the Italian Room and the Board of Trustees' Room. This tour does not include the permanent exhibition of the Museum or the General Reading Room. Approximate duration of 60 minutes.

     *Monday to Friday at 12pm. Registration

     *Saturdays at 11pm. Registration

For groups

 

1. Tour of the BNE Museum. The rest of the Library is excluded. Approximate duration of 60 minutes.

     *Tuesday to Thursday at 10.30am and 11.30am and Friday at 10.30am. Registration

School visits

For groups of primary, secondary and higher secondary school students during the academic year.

Specialised visits

These are more specific visits and are organised according to the particular interests of a certain group. They are organised depending on Library availability.

Open Day

The Biblioteca Nacional de España holds its traditional Open Day at least once a year. As well as a tour of the building, including areas to which access is normally restricted, some of the unique pieces in the institution's holdings are displayed.

The date, time, route and type of access are announced in advance.
