The ISSN International Register

When an ISSN is assigned, a record containing all of the information about the serial publication in question is created. This then forms part of the ISSN Register maintained and published by the ISSN International Centre in Paris.

This database is constantly updated and is currently growing at a rate of between 40,000 and 60,000 new records per year. Its size (it contains more than one million records), coverage (worldwide) and reliability (the records are produced by National Centres in the publications' country of origin) make the database an indispensable source of information about serial publications and a key bibliographic source for libraries and documentation centres.

The ISSN Register is available on line ISSN Portal.
