Books, journals and other materials held in the facility's repositories either on their original medium or as reproductions. General reference collection (unrestricted access). This collection consists of encyclopaedias in both Spanish and other languages, dictionaries, biographic directories, etc.
Consultation:
Robot
- Unrestricted access: The reference works are directly accessible to users and do not need to be requested.
- On request: Readers can request up to 3 works at a time. Waiting time is less than 30 minutes. Each reader may reserve up to 3 works for a maximum period of 7 calendar days.
- Remote request: In order to eliminate waiting time, readers can request up to 10 works by sending an e-mail or fax (91 883 69 90) to the library during the reading room's opening hours with their personal details, contact telephone number and the titles and call numbers of the works requested.
Photocopies:
A maximum of 20 photocopies may be made of works published from 1958 onwards, provided that they are in a good state of conservation. Other reproductions should be requested from the Reproductions service.
Use of PCs:
The PCs in the OPACs reading room may be used by readers to search the Biblioteca Nacional's catalogue and other information resources. The use of laptop PCs is also permitted.
